Arctic Nut is an experimental cooling concept. The studies below examine heat exposure, not this brief. Sauna performance and protection of sperm motility have not been established.

  1. Repeated sauna exposure deserves a closer look.

In a small study, 10 men with normal starting semen measures used a sauna twice a week for three months. Sperm count and motility fell. The measured changes had reversed by six months after the men stopped.

This was one small study of a specific exposure pattern. It did not test a cooling product or establish a safe sauna routine. Read Garolla et al., 2013.

The research concerns heat exposure. Arctic Nut was not tested.

Repeated sauna. Measurable changes. One small study of ten men: normal starting semen measures; lower sperm count and motility after three months; measures returned to baseline six months after stopping. Garolla et al., 2013. Study illustration. Arctic Nut was not tested.

  2. Motility is movement, not the whole fertility story.

Progressive sperm move forward; non-progressive sperm move without making forward progress; immotile sperm do not move. These movement categories are described in the WHO semen manual. Immotile does not necessarily mean dead.

Motility is one laboratory measure. A larger observational study of 3,041 couples found little association between reported sauna use and the chance of conception per cycle. Different studies measure different outcomes. Read McKinnon et al., 2022.

The Cooling Brief has not been shown to protect motility or improve fertility.

  3. The design gives the pack a place to sit.

The Cooling Brief brings a removable cooling pack into a familiar garment. Its front pocket is shaped for one contoured gel pack, with a zip to hold it in place.

That is the practical idea behind the brief: a dedicated place for the pack, without needing to hold it by hand.

One less thing to hold. The pocket holds the pack. A tall editorial illustration shows the black Arctic Nut Cooling Brief on an oak bench, with one blue pack partly in its pocket and one spare beside it.

  4. A padded liner sits between you and the pack.

Inside the pocket, a padded liner creates a fabric layer between the gel pack and your body. It is a small construction detail that matters when handling a cold pack.

Always check the pack’s temperature and keep that liner between the pack and your skin. Never put a frozen pack directly on bare skin.

A built-in layer, with careful handling still essential.

  5. Soft modal, with or without the pack.

The brief starts with soft modal knit and a stretch waistband. Its cooling element is removable: take the pack out whenever you want to wear the brief on its own.

The pocket gives you a place for the pack. You choose whether to use it.

  6. Two reusable packs are already included.

Your kit comes with one Cooling Brief and two contoured gel packs. There is no separate pack purchase needed to complete the set.

The pocket holds one pack, so you have a second included pack for your routine.

  7. Choose a close fit that works for you.

The brief’s trim shape keeps the design close to the body, while the stretch waistband is part of its familiar underwear feel.

The fit runs trim. If you are between sizes, size up.

  8. Made for a reusable routine.

The brief and gel packs are designed to be cared for separately. Remove the pack, wash the brief cold on a gentle cycle, and line dry. Wipe the packs clean; do not machine wash or puncture them.

Follow the preparation guidance supplied with your packs, check them for damage, and remove a pack if cooling feels uncomfortable.

Remove. Clean. Prepare for the next use.
